Nervous System Regulation Strategies
For the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship
Hey there Regal Fam,
As many of you know, building a business demands not just strategy and skill, but also a regulated nervous system that can weather the inevitable storms of entrepreneurship.
The decision to venture into entrepreneurship is beautiful, expansive, and exciting – and it’s also not for the weak! 😆There are high highs, and low lows.
This week, I want to focus on something I see affecting so many of us as founders: the physiological impact of constant decision-making and uncertainty.
When we're constantly in "activation mode," our nervous systems remain stuck in fight-or-flight, affecting everything from our creativity to our ability to connect with others.
Understanding Your Entrepreneurial Nervous System
It is thought that the average entrepreneur makes about 35 critical decisions daily.
Each one creates a small activation in your nervous system.
Without proper regulation, these micro-stresses accumulate, potentially leading to burnout or reactive decision-making.
When I first became a founder, I – without fully realizing it – found myself constantly caught in this activation loop - checking emails late at night, racing thoughts sometimes accompanied by excessive worry and anxiety, and disconnecting from my body's signals.
It wasn't sustainable, and it certainly wasn't allowing me to bring my best self to my vision.
Three Regulation Practices You Can Implement Today
One of the main intentions of Regal Resilience is to provide tools, information, and education about how to… you guessed it… be more resilient.
Here are 3 things I’ve learned about how to better regulate my nervous system as an entrepreneur (but these also apply to everyone – the modern age can be quite stressful!)
Intentional Morning Buffer Zones – Create a 30-minute space between waking and engaging with work. Instead of reaching for your phone, try diaphragmatic breathing (3 counts in, 6 counts out) while placing one hand on your heart and one on your belly. This signals safety to your nervous system before you enter the day's demands.
Decision-Making Pauses – Before making any significant business decision, take a 90-second pause. Place your hand on your heart, feel your feet on the ground, and ask yourself: "What does my regulated self want to choose here?"
This small gap between stimulus and response can transform your leadership, especially the leadership of yourself.Completion Rituals – Our nervous systems need clear boundaries between work and rest. At day's end, write down three things you completed (no matter how small) and three things you're releasing until tomorrow. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and physically turn away from your workspace, signaling to your body that it's safe to rest.

From My Journey to Yours
Last week, I faced some challenging moments that would have previously sent me spiraling.
Instead, I used my regulation practices beforehand, staying grounded in my body and connected to my purpose.
The outcome wasn't just feeling better in the moment — it was walking away feeling empowered rather than depleted.
Knowing how to regulate in moments of pressure is one of the best tools we can have in our toolbelt.
Your entrepreneurial journey doesn't have to come at the cost of your wellbeing.
In fact, I've found that the more I prioritize my nervous system regulation, the more effective my leadership becomes.
If you want to learn about heart-brain coherence and practice a meditation specifically for this, there’s a workshop in the area for monthly members! Definitely recommend you try that one out.
Mantra of the Week:
“I have the opportunity to pause, breathe, and choose how to respond in each moment.”
Or a bonus mantra: “I take care of my body, so that my body can take care of me.”

This Week’s Callouts
1 – I am opening up 2 spots on my calendar this week to speak with those interested in an exclusive partnership license with Regal Resilience. 3 – We’re looking for mentors on the Regal Platform! This would look like offering an ‘office hour’ weekly, biweekly, or monthly to lend your expertise, guidance, and mentorship to anyone you may be able to help ♥️

Until then, remember that your resilience isn't just about bouncing back—it's about building the internal capacity to move forward with grace and power.
