What would you do if you couldn't fail?
Reframe your mindset toward action & success
I have one key question for you today, my friend.
What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
Fear — whether we like it or not — plays a massive role in the human experience.
There are a few ways (many, actually) that this shows up in our personal and professional lives.
But it all boils down to this fact:
We are the biggest things holding ourselves back.
Why?
We make assumptions. We create stories. We fall into fear-based mindsets.
This can look like many things, and present in many ways, including:
Being afraid to ask for what you want or need
Not taking chances “in case you fail”
Playing small because it feels less scary or risky
Doing things alone rather than collaborating, seeking guidance, or asking for help
Struggling silently and living in states of anxiety and worry because you’re afraid to actually, fully try
Did you know that when Steve Jobs was 12, he decided to reach out to Bill Hewlett – the co-founder of the tech company, Hewlett Packard?
Why?
He asked Hewlett for spare computer parts for a project he was working on.
How Hewlett responded?
He sent Jobs the parts, and offered him a summer internship.
And the rest, as they say, is history (this opportunity greatly increased and accelerated Jobs’ enthusiasm for both technology and entrepreneurship – and look what came from all of that!)

What is the moral of the story here?
It starts with an ask.
It starts with an open (and oftentimes brave!) action.
Instead of letting fear be the main driver, what if you asked for what you wanted?
What if you created your own luck, and put yourself in the way of opportunity?
What if you believed you can, rather than worrying that you can’t.
I want you to really sit with this, and think about this.
Journal about it. Talk about it with a loved one. Really sit with it.
What would you do if you weren’t afraid.
And then, I want you to start acting like that.
Thinking, believing, and acting from that place.
That’s what is needed for your success.
I’ll add this:
Societally and socially, I believe that men are more accustomed to and likely to ask for opportunities, ask for what they want specifically, and put themselves out there.
As Regal Resilience is a company mainly geared toward women (although we love you a ton, allies!) – it is especially important for me to remind you:
You can also take up space.
You can also ask for what you want.
I’ll leave you with what Steve Jobs said when he was asked about the story with Hewlett Packard, the spare computer parts, and the summer internship:
“Most people don’t get those experiences because they never ask. I’ve never found anybody that didn’t want to help me if I asked them for help…Most people never pick up the phone and call. Most people never ask. And that’s what separates the people who do things from the people who just dream about them.”
Take this as the push you may need – to ask for what you want! Be proactive. Believe in yourself. Put yourself in positions to get what you want!
This week’s mantra is two-fold:
I want you to truly consider how you’d show up if you weren’t afraid
I’d like to create your own mantra around this: for example~
I am fearless in the pursuit of my goals
I believe wholeheartedly in my success
The universe is conspiring in my favor

And my challenge to you this week is this:
Do ONE THING that scares you.
Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Act in the way you would if you were not afraid.
Life responds to courage.
Life responds to action.
Life responds to boldness.
