Why Most Founders Fail – and How We Can Succeed
Actionable Steps from a $Billion Founder!
Hey Regal Resilience Family,
I’m so excited to share a podcast that truly spoke to me, and I’m sure it’ll resonate with so many of you. I was listening an episode of the On Purpose Podcast with Jay Shetty with Suneera Madhani, founder of Stax Payments, dives deep into the topic: “Why Most Founders Fail—7 Things You Must Do to Succeed.”
As I was listening, I felt like Suneera was speaking my truth.
There’s so much in her story that connects with my own journey—building something from the ground up, facing tough challenges, and realizing the road to success isn’t just about money or scaling for the sake of it.
It’s about the journey, the mindset, and, most importantly, the support we create along the way.
Here are some of the key takeaways from her story that I can’t help but share:
1. Execution Is Everything
Suneera made one thing crystal clear: ideas are only as good as the execution behind them. Too many people get stuck in the planning phase, trying to make things perfect. But the truth is, it’s about getting started, iterating, and pushing through. Execution is the differentiator.
I can so relate to this. At Regal Resilience, I’ve learned that nothing beats the power of getting to work. It’s not about waiting for the perfect moment; it’s about being consistent, being willing to fail and learn, and always moving forward.
2. Scaling is Messy, But It’s Part of the Growth
When Suneera talked about how scaling a business requires recalibrating everything—from systems to people to processes—I thought, YES. It’s not a straight line. As a business grows, things break. And that’s okay! What matters is having the resilience to fix them and keep going.
This connects to what we do at Regal Resilience: scaling isn’t just about getting bigger, it’s about evolving.
Whether it’s in business, personal development, or mental strength, the process of growth can be messy. But it’s in those messy moments that we find out what we’re truly made of. And we need each other to navigate them.
3. People, Process, Profit: The Holy Trinity
Suneera laid out her three pillars of success—People, Process, Profit—and it hit me. So much of what we do at Regal Resilience mirrors that! You need the right people who align with your mission, the right processes to create order and efficiency, and, of course, profitability to sustain it all.
But here’s the thing—it’s about building a culture of support too. PEOPLE are THE most component to the building of Regal Resilience at our current stage of growth.
Suneera acknowledged that she had the right people around her to keep pushing.
We all need that.
A strong network, especially as women entrepreneurs, can make all the difference. I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to have mentors, collaborators, and partners (and not just other women, but strong and successful men too) because, let’s be real, we can’t do this alone.

4. Women Are Underfunded, But We Still Need Support
One part of the podcast that I couldn’t stop thinking about was when Suneera brought up the systemic challenges that women face in securing funding.
We are underfunded, and there’s no denying that. It’s hard out here for women entrepreneurs.
But what I loved is that she didn’t just stop at identifying the problem—she also highlighted the importance of building relationships with those who can support you, including strong male allies who recognize your potential.
As I’ve navigated the ups and downs of building Regal Resilience, I’ve experienced this firsthand.
We need to be unapologetic in seeking the support, funding, and resources that are rightfully ours. But we also need to build networks that are diverse—ones that elevate and empower each other, no matter where the support comes from.
This is why I’m so passionate about what we’re building here.

5. Purpose Over Profit
Suneera shared something so powerful: after achieving a billion-dollar valuation, she realized something was missing. It wasn’t the money. It was purpose. She shifted her focus to creating a business that not only thrived but made an impact.
This really struck me. I see so much of myself in this. At Regal Resilience, we talk a lot about how true success is aligned with our purpose—and that’s not always about the financials. It’s about building a life that feels fulfilling, that gives back, that leaves a lasting impact. As we grow our businesses and our lives, let’s not forget to make room for what matters beyond the bottom line.
6. The Power of Self-Care
Suneera also talked about how easy it is to lose yourself in the grind. She admitted that she neglected her health, and it led to a major wake-up call. I get this. I’ve been there. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget that our most important asset is ourselves—our health, our mindset, our well-being.
At Regal Resilience, I want to remind you all: self-care is non-negotiable. It’s why health and wellness is a part of our platform. If we’re not taking care of ourselves, how can we be the resilient leaders we aspire to be? It’s okay to slow down, breathe, and re-align with what’s truly important.
The Takeaway: We’re All in This Together
Suneera’s journey reminds me so much of the ups and downs I’ve faced, and I know many of you can relate. We’re all building something meaningful, and it’s not always easy. But if we focus on the execution, stay true to our values, seek out the right support, and remember that our purpose is bigger than our profit, we’ll keep pushing forward.
